There are only so many hours in the day. We all have goals but those can easily slip away if we don’t make time for them. One of the biggest obstacles people face in fitness is a busy schedule. So how do you figure out how to make enough time to workout? It takes a little bit of self-discipline but this can be achieved with a few steps.
You can get an app on your phone or use an old fashion pen and paper planner like I do. Either way, this should have each day broken down to at least half hours. It should also have a section for written down daily tasks to accomplish and space for other text we’ll talk about in just a moment. Some also include a place to put meals and workouts.
Each day, you will spend a few minutes planning the next day. Include everything from work to family time AND TIME TO WORKOUT. Write it down even if it’s just 15 minutes. Also write down a few of your must-do, biggest tasks to accomplish that day.
Now here’s the real key. Follow your planner. When asked why he still wakes up at 4 a.m. each morning to train former Navy SEAL Jocko Willink says “Discipline is freedom”. What he means is that staying on a self-controlled routine allows you to do the things you want. You want to achieve your fitness goals? Practice discipline.
You’ve got celebrate the achievements as they come. Here at Torva, we call them Bright Spots and we share them with each other each Friday in our members Facebook group. We are motivated by our successes the only way to unlock that motivation is to recognize them. Each day in your planner right down one or two bright spots from that day.
