Personal training gives you the opportunity to build a one-on-one relationship with a coach who will get to know your strengths and weaknesses, any past injuries, and what your goals are. Using this information, your coach will create personalized and targeted programming to work towards a healthier, stronger you.
We will cover plenty during the introduction, and keep in mind in each class, every move and scaling options are provided for the movements in a workout. We’ve got you covered.
The WOD can always be scaled and adjusted to provide a suitable challenge for athletes at any level.
CrossFit requires a checking of egos at the door. Don’t worry about the person next to you. Don’t worry about doing everything perfectly. Make sure you have the opportunity to walk in and out of our doors injury-free. CrossFit isn’t going anywhere; there’s plenty of time to get stronger and fitter. Commit to getting better at one thing (no matter how small) every time you walk into Torva, and we guarantee a year from now, you’ll be shocked at your progress.
- Dynamic Warmup – focuses specifically on the areas utilized in the rest of class
- Strength or Skill Work – we spend some intentional time developing a specific skill, or building up our strength
- The WOD – the WOD (workout of the day) is posted the night before the workout on the member’s ZenPlanner app. The WOD is often a “Metcon,” which is short for metabolic conditioning.
- Post Workout Stretching – your body is warmed up and post workout stretching aids in recovery and increases mobility and flexibility.
With CrossFit, you’ll be burning more calories than you are right now, so to “get bulky,” you would need to make an effort to be eating a high calorie diet. It’s a very conscious effort to “get bulky,” so don’t fret!
